“Be person-centered and listen to what’s needed”
“Anybody that comes into the family…when there’s a disabled..so whether it’s a social worker, health…and they come into your lives…….that they are person-centred. They…core conditions… understand, value and have empathy for the family. And also respect. Are not going to…’Oh, we can’t afford this’ or ‘Budget’ that or ‘Budget’ this…just listen to what’s needed. But then being honest? You know…not going away saying ‘Oh, we’ll look into it’ but also acknowledge what you’ve said.mOr what they can’t do.”
