"There was a time during Covid when [on] Thursdays people would just go out the door and we could clap at eight o'clock. That was just to say thank you to the NHS staff. Do you know how far that goes? [These] people work their heads off. They have never had a thank you for the work they do. And when you say thank you to some of them, maybe there's that motivation, rather than giving up, of carrying on."
