"If I could change one thing? As we are all aware, most of our shifts are 12 hour shifts. A happy worker produces good results. As healthcare people, I believe we really need salary increments. What we are getting is not really good, to be honest, considering what we went through during the pandemic. Our career is always looked down upon and we are not fully appreciated...We stood up and we fought, no one knew what Covid was. We were like an army going into battle without the right equipment, without the right resources. And it left so many people scarred...to be honest the majority [of nurses] are suffering depression because of what we went through...So if we could improve on the renumeraation and, at the same time, if we could improve on staff shortages in the NHS and in the care homes... If we can get manpower, that would be a good start."
