“We need to listen to the people we’re trying to provide help for”
“As a healthcare system, we need to listen to the people we’re trying to provide help for. So listen to the service users. What are they saying needs [to be] improved? What are they saying: ‘Okay, this is working. But this isn’t. We need more of this’. So, for example, mental health waiting lists. If there’s 18+ month waiting lists, this is obviously something that needs to be improved. And it is, as can be fed back from this conversation and probably many others, that is something that people want worked on. As well as just being able to actually access the care. And be listened to when they do try to access care. So not being dismissed because you don’t fit the criteria for what’s being said, or what they think it should be, if that makes sense.”
